MapMyLot ("the Service") displays parcel boundary data sourced from government open-data records for informational purposes only. The Service does not constitute a licensed survey and must not be relied upon for legal, construction, planning, conveyancing, or boundary-dispute purposes.
For legally accurate boundary information, engage a registered surveyor licensed in your jurisdiction.
Boundary data is sourced from:
- Australia (QLD, NSW): PSMA Australia G-NAF and state cadastral datasets (CC BY 4.0)
- New Zealand: Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) open data
- BC, Canada: BC Integrated Cadastral Fabric (open data)
Data currency varies by region and may not reflect recent boundary changes, subdivisions, or consolidations. The Service makes no warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any purpose.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or accurate.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service and its operators are not liable for any loss or damage arising from reliance on information provided by the Service, including errors in boundary data, service outages, or inaccurate geocoding results.
You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial research. Automated bulk querying, scraping, or reselling of data from this Service is prohibited. The Service is provided free of charge with no service level agreement.
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
MapMyLot displays parcel boundary data for the following jurisdictions: Australia (Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, Australian Capital Territory), New Zealand, Canada (British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Yukon), and the United Kingdom (England, Wales, and Scotland). Data for each jurisdiction is sourced from official government open-data programmes - including QLD Spatial, NSW Spatial Services, LINZ (New Zealand), BC Data Catalogue, and HM Land Registry (UK). Each dataset is released under open data licences and updated on varying schedules; data currency therefore differs by region.
Boundary coordinates shown on the map are derived from cadastral records, not from physical survey marks on the ground. The visual boundary on screen may differ from the actual fenced line, peg position, or registered survey plan. For construction, fencing, subdivision, or legal boundary-dispute purposes, engage a licensed surveyor in your jurisdiction.
When you enter a street address, MapMyLot geocodes it using jurisdiction-specific address databases (G-NAF for Australia, LINZ WFS for New Zealand, BC Geocoder for British Columbia, and Nominatim as a fallback). The geocoded coordinate is then matched against the cadastral parcel database using a spatial query. The matching parcel boundary is displayed on an interactive map alongside the calculated area in square metres and hectares and the perimeter in metres.
As of the effective date above, the Service offers 5 free lookups per day without requiring an account. Registered users with an active Pro subscription receive unlimited lookups. PDF boundary reports are available as one-off purchases. Lookup quotas and plan availability may change; current pricing is shown at mapmylot.com. Lookup counts are tracked per browser session for anonymous users and per account for registered users. Counts reset at midnight UTC.
Geocoding results depend on the quality and currency of the address databases. Some addresses - particularly in rural areas, newly subdivided lots, or recently renamed streets - may not return a match. In those cases, try an alternative address format or a nearby known address and use the map to navigate to your property.
